Why do I need to order a day ahead?
We cook every order from scratch on the day, and buy the meat and vegetables for it the day before. A day's notice lets us plan the day's pots properly, so the earliest you can pick is tomorrow. If you need something sooner, message us on WhatsApp and we'll say yes if the day allows it.
Can I mix two different biryanis in one combo?
No. Each combo is priced for a single type of biryani. If you want a Chicken Duo and a Veg Duo, add both to your basket as separate feasts and we'll cook and pack them separately.
Who decides the side dish, gravy and sweet?
On a full feast you choose the gravy, Veg Kurma or Brinjal Gravy, and on a Chicken or Mutton feast the side dish too, Chicken Tandoori or Chicken 65. On the Mega Tiffin you choose two tiffins and two sides. Everything else — the veg side dish, the thali's bread, varuval and poriyal, and the sweet on each — is the chef's choice, set fresh for each cooking day and named on this site before you order, so you always know what's coming.
What is on a thali, and what is on the Mega Tiffin?
A thali is a full South Indian plate: karakuzhambu, kadhamba sambar and tomato rasam, a kurma, a varuval and a poriyal, with buttermilk, pickle, appalam and a sweet. The Veg Thali is built on veg kurma; the Non-Veg Thali on chicken kurma, with a second chicken dish on top. Rice is yours to take or leave, and leaving it off takes a pound off. The Mega Tiffin is the tiffin plate instead: pongal, two tiffins you pick from idly, dosa, poori and aappam, two sides you pick from vadacurry, sambar, potato sagu and kurma, three chutneys, a vadai and a sweet.
Can I order a biryani, a thali and a tiffin in one go?
Yes, and they can even be for different days or different sittings. You pick the day and sitting for each dish as you add it, the basket groups itself by sitting, and it all travels as a single WhatsApp message with one total. We cook each sitting as its own batch.
Do you deliver outside Belfast?
No. Delivery covers the Belfast postcode districts BT1 to BT17 only. If you're outside that, you can still order and collect from 8 Baronsgrange Crescent, Carryduff, BT8 8GP. Put your postcode in at checkout and the site will tell you immediately which applies.
What exactly is in a Jus Biryani?
Biryani and onion raitha only. No side dish, no gravy, no sweet. It's the option for when you just want the rice.
How do I pay?
Your order reaches us on WhatsApp with the full total already worked out. We confirm availability and price, then arrange payment with you directly. Nothing is charged through this site.
How does delivery work?
We deliver within Belfast, BT1 to BT17. Enter your postcode at checkout and the site checks it against the area instantly and shows how far you are from the kitchen. Anywhere else, collection from Carryduff is always available.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Message us as early as you can. Changes are usually fine before we've shopped for your order; once cooking has started, an order can't be cancelled.
Is the food halal? Any allergens?
Ask us directly on WhatsApp before ordering and we'll tell you exactly how a dish is prepared. Add any dietary note in the special instructions box and we'll see it with your order.
